For two decades, Silicon Valley’s strategy has been to subsidize massive losses in order to obliterate the market and become a monopoly i.e. Amazon, Uber, etc.
Now, China is doing the exact same thing with every market, and the US cannot do anything about it because regulating this type of strategy would necessarily also target US tech companies, making them slightly less powerful.
The American people, particularly the working class who’ve been exploited the most by big tech, couldn’t care less because they’ve been completely excluded from the wealth generated over the past twenty+ years. So to them, the cheap, direct-to-consumer products and digital tools coming from China is a welcomed financial releif.
