I’ve read that phrase more in the last two weeks than perhaps in my lifetime. So much so that I lost its meaning and needed to look it up.

To say someone was killed “in cold blood” means it was done without emotion, in a calculated manner. I can’t think of anything more emotionless and calculating than budgeting death for faceless shareholders. Can you?
