Re: Chris Hayes expresses his distaste for a Christmas song without mentioning Trump (and that’s bad for some reason).

This is happening with greater frequency. We’ve entered a bizarre new era of social media discourse where even the most mundane critical observation is met with incredulous anger if that critique is not somehow centered around Donald J. Trump.

Chris Hayes [@chrishayes.bsky.social](http://chrishayes.bsky.social) • 1h&10;It's the time of the year when "Do They Know it's Christmas?" randomly pops up on the spotify holiday playlist and I'm shocked *once again* at how utterly tone deaf and condescending it is. I know I'm not breaking any new ground but MY GOD.&10;&10;Comment:&10;Chris, Chris, Chris. This song was about motivating folks to donate money to a good cause, the famine in Ethiopia. We have seen worse pleas for money, much more condescending. Let's start with the Trump golden sneakers, the Trump watches, and the Trump cologne, shall we?
